When you visit the Highlands of Scotland their similarity to Central Otago in New Zealand is readily apparent. The scenery may be similar but the experience is quite different. The interplay of light on stunning mountains, brooding lochs, castles and ancient ruins all combine to provide the photographer with a veritable feast of subjects. People may complain about the weather but to me this is just part of the charm as the mist swirls around the brooding peaks creating a magical landscape.
